Kitchen cabinet is the most versatile and important furniture inside our kitchen. It functions as a very reliable storage of all our kitchen items, has great design to enhance our overall kitchen appearance and can become a good countertop and breakfast nook for table purposes. Hence, it is on the top list when wanting to renovate or organize the kitchen.

When we speak of kitchen cabinets, many people would assume a box like or rectangular shape cabinet with identical compartments and swing doors. These are usually tall and stand alone type of cabinets, ready to be moved anytime. Actually, what people often think is quite true but there are also other types of kitchen cabinets.

What we often see in many regular kitchens is a kitchen pantry. Ideally, a kitchen pantry is where our foodstuffs are stored. Yet, most of the kitchen pantries are also stored with other kitchen items such as utensils, small appliances and pots and pans. It is a standalone type of kitchen cabinet with different numbers of compartments depending on its size.

Another type is a kitchen island. This is not often seen in regular houses since these are sometimes considered as an extra countertop or storage. Yet, a kitchen island is a great addition to every kitchen. It does serve as an extra countertop and cabinet but you can also put additional sink or even place your oven below the countertop. Some kitchen islands have a special breakfast nook on the side to eliminate the use of a table in the kitchen. Generally, a kitchen island is placed in the center where it stands like an island.

There is also the base kitchen cabinet. These are your normal kitchen cabinets with sink and countertops. Usually, a base cabinet is placed near the wall and may stand up to your hip.

The fourth type of kitchen cabinet is the wall cabinet. Wall cabinets, as the name imply, is a cabinet attached to the wall. These are usually placed on the upper portion of our wall for added design to our kitchen most kitchen items placed in the wall cabinets are breakable items and great for display.

With the many varieties of kitchen cabinets, you now have a wider selection to add to your kitchen. You can have two of these kitchen cabinets like a base cabinet and a wall cabinet or perhaps have all of it for an elegant looking kitchen. Just make sure that these kitchen cabinets can fit well in your kitchen.
