Can Your Kitchen Be Your Office?

Many moms are trying to fit everything in 24 hours. In fact, a 24-hour period is not enough time to finish all the work especially for working moms. They have at least three things to worry about each day, her husband and kids, the house and her own self and interest. Sometimes, her work adds up to number four. However, a mom is not at all hopeless. She does her best to fit all these priorities within the day with all patience and love and do it again tomorrow.

For a working mother or a mother who are also having her own office with all the notes, cookbooks and computer, she can maximize her time and house space by placing her office into her so-called workplace, the kitchen. It may sound absurd but it is possible. Since, our moms spend most of their time in the kitchen, it might be too stressful for her to run to another room, do her work and come back again. So why not create a tiny well-designed office nook in any corner in the kitchen to make her work less pressured and faster.

Forming a small office in the kitchen is viable if having large kitchen. But, a small to medium sized kitchen must not stop you from making your kitchen dreams come true. You just need to plan well and organize things.

Starting on your new office area in the kitchen, you need to plan a few things. You need to identify the area where you want to place your office, the furniture you want to include in it and the office items you need to have in your work. Basically, what you need is a table, a chair, your computer and some organizer for your office necessities.

You can place your table in one corner with a hollow lower area to easily slide your chair in when not in use. Place your computer or laptop on the table and arrange your pens and papers right beside your computer. A slim and tall organizer is a good way to store your other office necessities as well as just need few spaces. Place this beside your table so that you can easily reach your office needs anytime.

But, if you do not have the convenience of more space in your kitchen, simply utilize what you already have. A free countertop is a good alternative for your table. You can place your computer there. However, do not put your office tools and things near electricity or the stove. It will not do them good. Just have a countertop opposite to these kitchen appliances.

You can also utilize a small area of your kitchen cabinet as a good storage for your other office items. Simply organize them with pull out drawers or line your cookbooks there. Save that special area of your kitchen cabinet for your office needs only and select one that is very near your selected working countertop.

Bringing your office to your kitchen is a wise thing for a working mom to save time and energy in going back and forth in many rooms inside the house. It is a given that they need to cook food and still give in to the demands of work. However, they can do both in a systemized and controlled manner inside the kitchen. In addition, your mom can work well and have her quiet time being alone in the kitchen and all the kids are playing and being naughty in the living room.
